This class is taught in partnership with the Thunder Bay Weaver’s and Spinner’s Guild. This listing is for registering American students. If you are a Canadian student, please reach out and we’ll get you in touch with Frances Bennett-Sutton, the coordinator.

This 6-session course is for students who have completed “Introduction to Tapestry Weaving, Level 1.” You will be using your loom and tools from that class. This listing also includes the yarn, warp, handmade ergonomic wooden weaving comb (made by my Grandpa), and pattern kit, as well as access to pre-recorded videos to support the class. This listing also includes shipping the materials to you.

Sessions will be held via Zoom on Sundays, October 24 through November 28 from 1-3 pm (Central Standard Time)

This course will focus on starting and completing with a selvage edge, 6 different techniques for working verticals in tapestry, a stepped mesa motif using interlock, and the Norwegian 8-pointed star motif for working both verticals and angles within the same row. We will also learn how to make butterflies (for handling our lengths of weft fibers) and how to read a pattern off a grid.
